Washington state info

I have to travel to Bremerton, WA (Seattle area) for 2 weekdays days in late September. I found out that after I land in Seattle I have to take a 1 hour ferry ride to get to Bremerton. I am not familiar with any or these areas and I am wondering if I should return to Seattle after my business is concluded and stay near the airport, or can someone please suggest an area in Seattle that would be fun to explore. I will have an afternoon and evening to do this. I will not have a car. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I would spend that last bit of time right in downtown Seattle. That would be convenient between coming off the ferry, and going to the airport. Because once you're out at the airport area, there's really nothing to do around there, it's a commercial/industrial area 25 mins. south of Seattle proper. You can use the new LightRail to get from downtown to the airport for only $2.75.

So, you're flying IN when?

And flying out when???

What you describe should be extremely convenient by most standards.

You take the "Link Light Rail" from SeaTac airport to central Seattle. From there you catch a ferry to Bremerton. Once your business day is concluded, back on the ferry and back to central Seattle.

Provided your departure flight isn't in the wee hours of the morning, it would probably serve you best to stay in central Seattle and bank on the direct service of the Link Light Rail to get you back to the airport perhaps 40 minutes after you leave central Seattle.

You need not even worry about stops or schedules since they run so often, and since the last stop of the 'rail is the airport.

It should all be a breeze, but do hint as to when you're arriving and departing, as well as the demands of your Bremerton days.

I'd use Priceline.com to land a room in the downtown Seattle area.

There is enough sightseeing in central Seattle to occupy your time with no itinerary for that really needed.

You do not need to take a ferry to Bremerton. I live near Bremerton and actually find it more convenient to drive to/from the airport. Depending on traffic it can take less than an hour to drive to/from the airport.

Can you rent a car at the airport? If so, just rent a car and follow the signs to the I-5 Southbound. Take I-5 South to Tacoma. In Tacoma take the exit for Highway 16 Westbound. Highway 16 West will become Highway 3.

There are several exits for Bremerton off Hwy 3.

If you have a GPS bring it!

halfapair: The OP states they will not have a car.

For a trip as described, they surely don't need one either.
