Washington DC hotel advice needed

The Jurys Hotel has now become the Dupont Hotel. Has anyone stayed there who can give their opinion on this hotel and it's location to tourist sites? Any other hotel recommendations for tourists? Also, what would the weather most likely be like if we go to DC the first week of November?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Hotel location is excellent - I have not stayed there, however.

Weather in early November should be quite nice - light jacket or sweater weather.

Two addional hotel suggestions in addition to Jury's Hotel are:

http://www.tabardinn.com/ (inexpensive)

http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...ention-center/ (moderately priced, depending on ones definition)

I wouldn't count on weather in early Nov being quite nice or sweater only weather. Sure, it is possible, but I wouldn't bet on it. It's like Nov in a lot of the US, can be cloudy, gray, rainy, maybe not, but you never know. It won't be too cold, though, during the day, you can bet on that (I mean it could vary between 40-60 probably in the day time).

The old Jury's is in a great location, surrounded by restaurants and cafes in a variety of price ranges. You'll have to take the metro to the Mall, where many museums and monuments are located, but IMO it's better to be near food options in the mornings and evenings than in tourist are like the mall where everything closes at night. There is no one best location that is central to "everything".

But you could also look for hotels in the Penn Quarter neighborhood, which is close to the Mall.
