An early bloom for the DC cherry blossoms is expected beginning on March 17.

Hi sf! Really just depends upon the weather. One storm, high heat or frost and they're gone. With sunny, pleasant weather they can last 2 weeks. Peak is usually 4-5 days, but its still pretty both before and after peak which I think is 70% bloom. Its also pretty jammed packed. Go early am to avoid the massive crowds & dont drive anywhere near it. Also there are some neighborhoods that have cherry blossoms that while crowded its not as bad.

Well, update from NPS - now peak is March 27-April 1. Cold weather will keep buds intact.
