If I am correct, Jan and Feb may be fine for golf. . .but average temps are 65 day and 45 night. Cool for a pool. Phoenix is still fabulous.

Geography lesson: Arizona has seven climate zones, ranging from the Alpine (over 12,000 ft. elevation) to the Sonoran Desert (about 600 ft.). Pick and choose your climate by the altitude, especially in winter. Recommend you stick to the lower elevations -- Phoenix & Tucson areas -- where it should be warmer, but not necessarily any sunnier. Jan. and Feb. should be ideal for getting some rays but still quite chilly after dark because the humidity is negligible.

The only people hanging out at the pool are tourists and they do it in droves. Of course, the water is heated at all the resorts, but it's still YIKES for me! Phoenix/Tucson areas are usually perfect during the winter. All our relatives from Scotland come during that time and can't believe the gorgeous cloudless blue skies, flowers, green lawns, wonderful golf courses. I would say that would be a definite yes for you.

Chances are that Phoenix will be warm and sunny, around 65, but Tucson will generally be a few degrees cooler. I've been in a "snow storm" in Tucson in mid-January - by snow storm I mean that it snowed about an inch, and this was in the downtown area, not the mountains.

Palm Beach to Naples and down to the Keys in Florida. Az and CA are chilly in the winter. Nitetime temps. in the 40s, sometimes colder.
