Hi everyone,

I am about to book a vacation package at this hotel and just want to know if it's a good choice.
I usually stay at cheaper hotels but this package is a pretty good deal.
Is this hotel as good as the website looks?

We stayed at Waikiki Parc in October. We got the deluxe ocean view/breakfast/car package for $175-180/night. It was well worth it. I would definitely stay there again. Its a pretty simple hotel, the breakfast was good and we were up high enough where street noise was not a problem.

We stayed there in August and hated it. The room was barely big enough to fit a bed in. The bathtub had sludge coming up from the room below. It was also very tiny. Both my husband and I absolutely hated everything about the place!!!!!!!

Yikes....
Now I am really confused.

Kim, I think I will go on your word as you stayed in Oct, hopefully the problems from Aug were a one off.

I get a bit suspicious when such a 'good' deal comes up, maybe they are trying to palm off the 'sludge rooms' on us.

Never mind, I will reserve judgement until I get there.

Christa, I wouldn't worry about it. The room was a bit small. We had no problems with the bathroom. We requested a higher floor when we booked, which they accommodated. We were there for 2 nights and were happy with our stay. Its also walking distance to shopping, restaurants and many other hotels.

No sludge...it's a nice boutique hotel. The rooms are indeed a bit small. But the service is very good, so are the breakfast buffets. We thought we got an excellent deal. The place is managed by the Halekulani (5-star hotel) and it shows in the service.

I don't understand when people talk about great service in a hotel. Maybe I'm a clod (which isn't beyond reason), but what constitues great service? When I go to a hotel, practically everything is provided. There is minimal need to contact the service people for anything. What can they provide which falls in the realm of great service. Do they lather you up for your shower? Do they tuck you in at night? I don't get it. Ninety Nine percent of the time, the only interface I have with the front desk or other hotel functions, is checking in, and paying the bill.
