W Hotels in New Orleans

Has anyone stayed at either of the W Hotels in New Orleans? Need feedback on hotel & area. Also, how was the pool? Thanks

I stayed there when it was the Hotel de la Poste. The location is great and the pool was nice, but very close to where the cars pull in. I've heard some people don't like the W because it doesn't have the New Orleans feel, too modern for the area. I can't say enough about the location though.

Go to tripadvisor, laura, for most current traveler reviews. I've noticed that comments are all over the map from EXCELLENT to AWFUL.

I just stayed at the W last month - we stayed at the one in the Central Business District, not the one in the French Quarter because we were using points and the one in the CBD was less than the one in the FQ. I loved it, but then again, I love staying in the W.
W CBD had a nice rooftop pool - it was cold, so i didn't go in, but we did sit outside one afternoon. We popped into the W in the French Quarter - that pool area was nicer i thought. It's more of a little courtyard area with a fountain... Plus, there was more seating there. The CBD pool area was smallish.
