The internet shots of the "Dauphine" hotel in New Orleans look like a successful reno after Katrina. Anyone been there lately? We are four retired couples from Canada travelling in June and need very nice accomodations that don't break our Canadian budget or our old backs!

We have stayed at the Dauphine several times, but not since Katrina . . however, the French Quarter sustained minimal damage from Katrina so I would doubt it is much different.

Funny that Fodor's doesn't even list it in their Hotels section. Lots of reviews on Trip Advisor, including some quite recent ones. Have a look.

Well . . I would not have gone back if it was not good.

Location is great! . . close to Bourbon St., but still quite. Rooms were fine . . staff was very friendly and accompodateing. Nice pool

I've not been back since Katrina but I love the hotel. I'd trust Rich's opinion completely.

There's no "Dauphine" hotel. Do you mean the "Dauphine Orleans?"
