I need to choose between the 3 Wyndhams in New Orleans.

Due to a bad experience at a Wyndham in the Caribbean, Wyndham gave our family a number of free nights at almost any hotel in their chain. To use these, we would like to take a trip to New Orleans. I am trying to decide between the 3 Wyndhams in NO -- The Whitney, Canal Place and Bourbon Street. Your advice would be appreciated.

I have stayed at the Bourbon street location and loved it. Go for that one if you want to be near the action!

I don't know about the hotels but as far as location, Bourbon is the best, then Canal Place, then Whitney (this one isn't in the French QTr, but only a few blocks away). Check Tripadvisor for comments on each.

check out fodr's hotels and read the ratings from people who've stayed at each hotel. this might be helpful.

Canal Place is the nicest. Bourbon Orleans always gets mixed reviews and the location is either fantastic or TOO close. The Whitney is definitely the third choice here.

Ditto Canal Place.
Great location.
Very short walk to the FQ.

We stayed there 2 yrs ago and the service was so good I actually wrote a letter to the head of the chain.

The rooms are somewhat "generic hotelish" but the location and the views are very nice.

The lobby has one of the nicest views I ever seen...right down the "Mighty Missisipp"....the lobby starts on the 9th floor, I believe.
Take a cocktail from the bar and go sit in the lobby and watch the ships make the bend.

Also, if you stay there you can have acccess to the roof top pool and bar. Outstanding 360 degree view of all of NOLA.

Great b'fast at their restaurant....and if you don't feel like going to far for a great meal, Morton's is located in the building on the 2nd or 3rd floor.

The location is great, but the staff at Bourbon Orleans is absolutely terrible. Worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. I'd try Canal Place, but Wyndhams are franchises and corporate doesn't seem to monitor them very closely.

Isn't the Canal Street Wyndham "haunted"?

I seem to remember seeing this on a travel show....

I've stayed at the Bourbon and everything was great! As for the other hotels, I don't really know anything about them.
