visiting smithsonian & other DC attrac

Hello,
Are snacks/foods not allowed
inside the museums?

Is this the case for most of the
attractions or just the smithsonians?

THANKS!

While food is not allowed in the museums, I have always carried little ziplock bags with trail mix and packaged granola bars inside my purse. Sometimes the guards will check your bags and tell you not to open the food in the museum, but I've never had then take it away. I've always just taken a couple small items, though.

Also, if you take metro, don't eat on the train-they are very strict about it. I'm not even sure they let you eat while you're waiting???

That's right, no eating in Metro stations or aboard buses or trains.
