My husband and I will be spend l l/2 days in Santa Barbara at the end of October. Could anyone suggest 1) a nice and inexpensive small hotel for a single night; 2) best place for dinner; and 3) waht not to miss?

Thanks!

I like the Franciscan Inn on Bath Street. It's nothing fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. It's walking distance to the beach. Right down the street on Cabrillo is an Italian restaurant Emilio's, which is quite good. Joe's on State has good cocktails.

I highly recommend the Bay Cafe. They have delicious food (seafood, etc.) and great service!

OK - what are you calling "Inexpensive"? One person's inexpensive could be someone else's outrageous. What is your budget?

Also what night of the week - can make a major difference . . . . .

Stay at the Motel6 it's only 50 yards from the beach. Cheap and clean. Eat at the Fish Factory on State street. Great seafood and not expensive. Paul
