Virginia Beach Restaurants???

Our family is renting a house in Sandbridge VA in July. This is our first time down there and would like some restaurant recommendations in the Virginia Beach area. Are there any favorites out there you'd like to share?

For brunch, Jewish Mother. It's great and if the Spanish classical guitarist is playing, it's even better.

For breakfast or lunch, I'd definitely recommend either Mary's or the coffee shop at the Belvedere Hotel.

But beware -- the coffee shop @ the Belvedere only seats about 15 people . . . it's a real time warp!

Jewish Mother is also good, but I haven't been there in a while & I heard that it's kind of gone downhill a little.

Enjoy!

Try Blue Pete's on the road to Sandbridge. It has a lovely view from the dining room and good seafood. It will be a bit of a drive back in to VA. Beach from Sandbridge. Our favorite in town is Rockafeller's. Call to ask about their two for one lobster night. Their BBQ shrimp are wonderful and the fried calamari is the best I've ever had. If you like GOOD seafood, steer clear of the all you can eat seafood buffets. They are definately quantity over quality. Enjoy!

The Beach Pub in Virginia Beach is wonderful, great seafood, inexpensive, family atmosphere (they serve more than seafood). I think it's on Laskin Road just a few blocks from the beach. On the Boardwalk I've eaten at Rockfish several times, it is a little more expensive than The Beach Pub but has GREAT food. Ditto Rockafellars (sp). My mom loves the crabcakes at Lavernes (also on the beach).

Here's a second for the Duck-In. Good food, great view of the Chesapeake Bay.
