Virginia Beach Hotel
I'm thinking of going to Virginia Beach in Sept. I need help picking out a hotel. Would like a 1 bedroom suite with kitchen area. I would like a hotel with an ocean front room.
My main concern is that it has to be clean. Any suggestions. Also, is Sept. a good time to go. Thanks for any info.

Take a look at Virginia Beach Resort and Conference Hotel, The Atrium Resort, Ocean Sands Resort and Spa, Dolphin Inn on the Ocean, Beach Quarters Resort and Springhill Suites by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
September is still a good time to go. Most of the tourists are gone, so it's so much easier to get a hotel room. Traffic isn't as bad and easier to get to restaurants, etc.

We enjoyed the Comfort Inn and Suites Oceanfront-a clean, nice two room suite-with the living/dining area, small (closet sized mini kitchenette) and balcony on the oceanfront, with the bath, bedroom in the back. As I remember, there was an indoor pool and hot tub, but no outdoor pool. However, the boardwalk and the Atlantic Ocean is just steps from the door!!
September is a GREAT time to go-summer warmed ocean, fewer people, cheaper prices. Just check the weather forecast-it is also hurricane season!!

You might want to check when the Neptune Festival is in September. It's pretty crowded there that weekend (if you want fewer people). All kinds of cool things going on, though. I may actually go myself now that I think about it. Can't help with a specific hotel, but I think the southern end of the boardwalk is a bit more low-key than the central area.

We've stayed at the SpringHill Suites a couple of times, both during the summer and during the off-season. All of the rooms have balconies facing the ocean, which we enjoyed. There is also a nice outdoor pool (with spa) here in addition to the indoor pool. The suites each have a small kitchenette (fridge, sink, microwave), but in some of the suites, there is no door between the bedroom and the sitting area. If this is a problem for you, then make sure you get one of the larger suites which, I understand, do have a door between these two spaces.
