Vineyard visits and tastings

If you could choose 2 vineyards, which would it be? We will be in Portland, and have enjoyed tastings in France, Italy, California, and New York State. I like good wine.

Are you asking about Portland, Maine or Portland, Oregon? Both have wineries.

I've visited the Willamette Valley twice during their open house tasting weekends (Memorial Day and Thanksgiving). There are many great wineries here, but the ones that stand out in my memory are Adelsheim, Ayers, and Brickhouse, all in the Newberg area.

There are others I really liked, but it's been a few years so it's kind of a blur!

Most produce Pinot, but a few do make other wines.

Personally, I much prefer the Walla Walla, WA winemaking region because they are producing so many different wines that are more to my taste.

For pure scenery, the Willamette Valley is the hands down winner! Gorgeous!

If you're okay with only-by-appointment wineries, I'd suggest Prive, Soter, or maybe Beaux Freres.
