Vegas restaurants under $100-150?
Hi! Headed to Vegas for an adults only weekend with my hubby. We have a 1 year old and are expecting number 2 in a few months. Looking for excellent food, at $100-$150 total for dinner (I won't be drinking, obviously), great service, great atmosphere. We are not steakhouse people. Love anything else...sushi, Italian, any ethnic, contemporary. Would love good sushi. Japonaise or Nobu? Have been to Il Fornaio (5 years ago) and was very good. Greatr meal, service and prices. We have are staying at Bellagio. Loved their buffet for dinner before, but buffet isn't exactly romantic!
Are planning on Olives, maybe Il Fornaio, maybe Mon Ami Gabi (Paris). Bouchon for breakfast-- heard was great. Yes? Thanks for your help!

What I heard is that Nobu at the Hard Rock Hotel is very good. Your budget should be ok if you do not order drinks. However, reservations is a must. I am not sure if they are kid-friendly (most high-end restaurants aren't). Perhaps you can ask when making a reservation.

Nobu does have excellent sushi and an interesting menu, not typical Japanese dishes. I sat at the sushi bar there and my bill was $88 (none of which was alcohol). Their special roll is not that special, imo, given the price. Just walked up without a reservation (but this was during the week after Xmas).
I'd be happy to go back again, but if I was staying at Bellagio then Shintaro would be the first stop for dinner.

Let me clarify....we are NOT bringing kids.
Thanks for the sushi recommendations. We are total sushi snobs. When it comes to sushi, atmosphere is second to quality and freshness. Anhy other non-sushi places to eat?

Now that I think of it the salmon at Nobu was not particularly fresh. It was not off, but it had that sweaty look to it. No odor and the taste was ok but I would not have wanted that piece the next day. The maguro was excellent. Shintaro has great aji sashimi. I know you wanted non-sushi reccos but I have sushi on the brain as I am going to my fave place in the USA over the weekend (Tachibana in McLean VA).

As you suggest, Mon Ami Gabi would be a good choice...if you land an outside table you will have delicous food and fun people watching; not to mention the view of the fountains at Bellagio. My husband and I eat here EVERY time we go to Vegas. Have fun!

The following are off strip but all are reasonable and excellent. Virtually any place on strip is over priced and over rated.

Rosemary's (Continental)

Thank you all for these great suggestions! We are staying only on strip, but thank you. Anyone been to Japonaise for sushi at Mirage? Rec'd by concierge at Bellagio (where we are staying-- I was surprised he didn't rec'd Shintaro as many of you suggest). He thought Nobu very overrated.

Haven't been to the place at Mirage but will try it. Shintaro had great sushi though it seemed to be much more of a restaurant than a sushi place (more than otber places). It is the only place that I have had sushi that had a smart casual dress code. There are 10 or 12 seats at the sushi bar, in the front. After you pass the sushi bar there are seats for people waiting and then the restaurant is a few feet down a hall.
The sushi bar at Hyakumi is pretty good (at Caesars) and the place seems to be more sushi bar than restaurant.
