Vegas in December

Wife and I are planing trip to Vegas Dec 15-20. Found this review on another Fodor site. Can anyone tell me what they are talking about? Should we book another time?

Las Vegas is a year-round destination. Except for the first three weeks in December and weekdays during July, you can assume that Las Vegas will run at full speed.

I go to Las Vegas quite often. Some of the shows take a break for a week. However, there are pleny of things still going on. What's nice is that you will benefit from the hotel's room rates. They are sooooo... much cheaper right before the Christmas rush.

thanks or the advice. I have just started shopping for a hotel but the winter rates haven't started to show up on the internet sites yet. Any suggestions on good December bargains?

We were there last December in your time frame. Stayed 3 mid-week nights at the Rio. It's off-Strip, but the rooms are nice. Two nights at $50 each, and one at $60. And that included three food twofers.

Parking is easy, traffic is light--we quite enjoyed it...

Check the Monte-Carlo. I believe the prices were down to 49.00 per night.

Right now, for your dates, Monte-Carlo is at $49.00 Mon-thurs. www.montecarlo.com Another suggestion is to download www.travelaxe.com It's a mega search for hotels. Really neat site. Anyways, the reason for Monte-Carlo for me, is that I love the location and how easy it is to get to the rooms. I've been to a lot of hotels on the strip, I still vote for the Monte-Carlo.
