Vegas in December

We will be staying in Vegas the week of December 1-5. How busy is it that time of year?

It's my understanding that the weeks AFTER Thanksgiving but BEFORE Christmas are the slowest of the whole year for Vegas. However, they do have a big Rodeo around that time....but not sure exactly when. You should be able to contact the LV Visitors and Convention Bureau for a listing of what's going on. I have been to Vegas three times in late Dec/early Jan. Both Christmas and New Years (especially New Years) are super busy. The one time we went right after Christmas but before the New Year's Eve crowd arrived, it was the least crowded. It's still way too early to book a room. The deals will start to emerge in the fall. Enjoy!

The rodeo this year will be the 5th - 14th, 2003...I would book early because Vegas will be very crowded a few days before the event. And Congrats for being the good planner I'm not!!
