Vegas bound 3 days and counting
Leaving in 3 days now, thanks for all the help/suggestions on my previous post. I understand it'll be raining everyday I'm there. Since I'm staying at the mgm, during this rainy time, and would like to see the freemont show, should I rent a car?
Any last minute thoughts please feel free to pass along.

If it is raining, the Freemont Street Exp. is not worth getting wet over (You do know that it is an outside attraction?). It is not worth renting a car, take a cab. If you want to save even more money, take the bus.
Hopefully it does not rain every day that you are in Sin City. Have fun and remember...what happens there....well you know!

How much driving do you think you will do? It is probably cheaper, more convenient and less stressful to take a cab to Fremont and back if that is all that you want a car for. It rained on the last day of my trip in December and I saw a lot of car accidents.
The canopy at Fremont is not solid, so it won't protect you from the rain. The odds that it will be raining for every 'performance' of the Fremont Experience are fairly low. It is worth the trip. Even if it is raining, you can check out all the action downtown where it is really easy to walk from one casino to the next.
Have Fun,
Mark

Hello again.
I just read your previous thread and have some comments.
Itineraries are good. I spend more time researching options and planning things for the trip than I actually spend in Vegas. I took my parents to Vegas for Christmas. I booked our rooms in April. I use an itinerary to prioritize things and to get an idea of how much we can realistically do. I went to Vegas 4 times last year and never did everything on my list, though.
The Steakhouse at Circus, Circus does get good reviews, but it is not worth the trip or even going into Circus, Circus. The Luxor buffet is great (and relatively inexpensive). We go there on every trip. The buffet at MGM is OK, too. See if any of the restaurants in the Studio Walk have special offers for MGM guests. We got a great deal for dinner at Pearl just by staying at MGM (there was a flyer in the room for it).
For great drinks with a view of the Strip, there are 2 options in my book. Each has a different take on it. The Voodoo Lounge at the Rio has a spectacular view of the Strip from about 400 feet up. You might want to have dinner at the Voodoo Café and then walk up to the next level, which is the Voodoo Lounge. You will need to make reservations if you want to do this. For something a little different, Tangerine at TI (Treasure Island) has good drinks and a street level view down the Strip. You can see the Sirens of TI while you are there, too. I’ve been to Tangerine on every trip since it opened, but then again I normally stay at TI for at least part of my trip (staying at one hotel for the first half and another for the second half has become a regular thing for me – I’ll be back in May for the Centennial and I’m staying at TI for the first part (including the actual Centennial) and then heading over the Hard Rock for the last few days).
I wish I could give you a suggestion for a seafood place, but my girlfriend doesn’t like seafood so we haven’t been to one. I’ve enjoyed the fish & chips at Nine Fine Irishmen (at NYNY), though ;-)
Your original list had a lot of casinos. Are you planning on seeing specific things in each casino (like the Botanic Garden at the Bellagio or the White Tigers at the Mirage) or are you just going to them just to see the casino and randomly see whatever attractions they may have? Note that my first real Vegas trip was with an interior designer, so we went to almost every casino and saw how the themes were implemented in addition to the attractions. When I put my itinerary together, I list the specific attractions (and locations) so I know what it is that I want to see at each place.
I’d be happy to suggest more things if you have specific questions.
Have Fun,
Mark
PS. In September, I left a good table game to go outside BECAUSE it was raining.

Manduss: Thanks for the info.. My internet was down so I couldn't check before.
I've come to the conclusion that I'm just gonna go with the flow. I'm overwhelmed. I'll use my itinerary as a guideline. There are a few casino/hotels I def want to see, Venetia, CP, Mirage, Bell & Paris. I'm going to a Circque show not sure which, my sig-o picked and got tickets already but not telling me which.
Hope to do some shopping and lots of eating. I haven't scratched "the steakhouse" off my list yet but I think it'll be off by the time I get there tomorrow.
Faina: will check to see when the next one is
I was so excited these past few weeks, however my fear of flying is kicking in. Maybe I'll get some drugs from my doctor or just get drunk...lol
