Mare Island? I know it well. My father was a planner and estimator there for years. I worked there during the summers between my freshman and junior years in college. (Years ago, of course.)

I recently heard many ads for this marvelous development that was going on there, so the last time we were visiting my home town of Sonoma, we drove back that way. I had a really hard time, of course, recognizing anything I had known...where was Shop 06/99 where I had worked my fingers to the bone typing out the estimator's reports?

In fact, where was the "new development". It looked like a dump site to me. Anybody know anything different?
