Utah & Grand Canyon

Originally posted an itinerary that included arrival in Vegas, drive to Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands, Moab & Arches. Decided that was probably too ambitious for an 8 day period, so we've decided to amend the itinerary as follows: Arrive in Vegas, drive up to Zion & stay for 3 nights, doing day trip to Bryce. Then drive down to the Grand Canyon for another 3 nights, returning to Vegas for the last 2 nights. This seems a bit more reasonable in terms of drive times, etc. Any suggestions about where to stay around the Grand Canyon. We're not budget-minded travelers and would prefer something a bit upscale.
Thanks.

It's about an hour and a half to Sedona. Check out Auberge De Sedona and Enchantment Resort..........I had dinner at the table by the creek in the photos..........

The El Tovar would probably be best. I think it’s a waste of time to stay outside and I believe that’s the only really nice place near the rim. Reservations aren’t easy to get though. You can start calling exactly 1 year in advance. If you don’t have that much time before your trip it’s probably best to reserve what you can and keep trying to get a cancellation at El Tovar.

3 nights at the Grand Canyon is too long unless you're doing a lot of dayhikes or really want to just sit back and enjoy the views for 3 days.

If you are going to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and like to do some hiking, then three nights and two full days isn't to long. I like to hike along the rim and then pick up the free shuttle buses to take me back. You can also spend some time checking out the overlooks between Desert View and Canyon village.

If you did decide that 3 nights is to much, you could spend a night in Page, AZ and do either a 1/2 day float trip on the Colorado River, a couple hour boat tour on Lake Powell or do the Upper Antelope Slots canyon tour.

If you had planned on going to the North Rim, then 3 nights would be to much IMHO. (Unless you plan on hiking down into the canyon)
