us open (tennis) help, please
I'm taking my son and one of his friends to the US Open. I'm afraid I may have fooled around and missed the opportunity for good tickets. I was able to get grounds passes for 9/3, but doesn't include Arthur Ashe Stadium. I want Ashe grounds tickets for 9/2. If I keep trying on ticketmaster, will I have any luck? I understand that some may be released as we approach the event date. Also, will the boys be able to see some "name" players in Armstrong and on the other courts? Any info on how to obtain tickets or explanation of who plays where and when would be helpful.
Thanks!

That's the middle weekend, and matches on Armstrong can be as good, if not better than Ashe, plus you can get great seats in Armstrong. Depending on how the draws play out, there should be name players on Armstrong. You won't see Agassi on Armstrong, or Federer or Nadal, but you'll get players deeper into the seeds.

I agree with thit cho. Ashe stadium is so massive. Unless you have at least loge level seats, you might as well be watching from the Goodyear blimp.
You can get closer to the action on Armstrong and the outer courts. If you see a match you like on Armstrong, sit in the match prior just before it ends. The seating opens up as the people leave. (I think the year I went Santoro was playing Gimmelstob, then Ivanisevic played the next match)
While you may not see a marquee match, walking the ground and soaking up the atmosphere is very enjoyable.
