Re: September wedding
My sister is getting married (2nd marriage) in late sept. It will be an outside wedding in the late afternoon- with an evening reception. She asked the ladies to wear informal cocktail dresses to the event- the only dress I have is a deep-red coktail dress that comes to to right above the knee.
Is this too racy of a color to wear to a weddign of this sort? It will be ritzy, yet comfortable and all the women will be gettign their dresses from bloomingdales and other expensive places.
The dress is pretty conservative- I was wondering if the color is right for that time of year- (it's a very cute dress)
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks~

Red and black are no longer considered unacceptable colors to wear to weddings. Emily Post may say differently, but current convention is much more leniant. I'm a wedding coordinator.
On the other hand, if you're not comfortable about wearing it, then it sounds like a great opportunity to go shopping.

I've noticed that all the stores have red -maroon and black as their primary colors for special occasion and cocktail dresses for the upcoming fall- so I guess I'll be in style and go for the red ! Thanks for the advice !
Sorry for all my typos !
