upscale galveston beachfront home

Here is what I’m looking for. Something very very upscale, modern and must be beachfront, that means …when I open the back door, the beach should be a few steps. I want to wake up with the sound of waves in my ear. The house can be very secluded and I don’t need a list of “things to do” type location ….i know exactly what I want to do  . It will only be me for 4 day weekend…for a few days in February to celebrate my birthday... so, it doesn’t have to be a place where it sleeps 1000 people..lol…. and It must be equipped with a working fireplace. I would like champagne waiting for me upon arrival, if possible. Please advise.
any comments, advise or tips are all welcomed!

Welcome to Fodor's.
I am not sure what you are looking for is available in Galveston. We have been to Galveston for a day many times as our son lives in Houston and I admit I sure have not seen all of it but I have never seen what you are looking for. It seems like the rentals set further back from the ocean than what you want and nothing looks "very, very upscale". The sand is not pretty sand, very brown. But one thing I am sure of, VRBO is always a good place to start: http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals...oast/galveston

There are a number of upscale houses on the beach, but few are available for rentals . . As above, the last hurricane took put the first row of beachfront houses, and there is now more space between the water and the houses.

Another place to look is:

Good luck with your search but as cd notes, what you are looking for is not likely to be posted on vacation rental sites. There are some places on the West End that may come close but most are going to be rather larger than a studio/one bedroom. If you would consider a unit in a condo your choices would increase.

Go to Belize.

Seriously - that would be the perfect trip for you and fit the bill completely.

Galveston is, to a very large degree, a bloody dump.

Thanks for all the advice...i really do appreciate it. response to Seamus comment....I really don't mind it being larger than a studio...it will only be me staying but ..I can supply my own champagne as long as the home is upscale with a working fireplace and somewhat secluded. Please keep the comments coming! Thanks
