Unique California Resort

Hello!

I turn to you fellow Fodorites for help. Two years ago, I read about a resort in Northern California that struck my eye. The resort was on or near the coast, offered hiking, horseback riding, spa services, and luxury cabins with outdoor showers. The resort interestingly had "quiet hours" after 10pm which I found particularly appealing. I cannot find the name of the resort though. Does anyone have the name of this place? I believe it is between San Francisco and Santa Barbara, but I can't be certain. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

www.elcapitancanyon.com

www.treebonesresort.com

These are two that I have read about in the past few years. Both look intriguing to me.

My friends spend a week at Alisal Ranch last year, and had to dress for dinner. Jackets and ties were recommended for men & boys. This would definitely be a "deal breaker" for my DH.

If it;s castonoa you're thinking of, we went when it first opened and checked out a couple of hours after we checked in, after finding ticks on our pillows.

My closet at the Marriott Monterey. Very steamy and the bottles of Montevina Chard provided the added pleasure of total relaxation.

You guys are the best! It looks like it might be Costanoa, but all the other suggestions have given me options to look into as well.

Asilomar isn't really a resort; it's used primarily as a conference center. I don't think it has horseback riding, spas, or luxury cabins.

Some friends stayed at Costanoa about a year ago. They really enjoyed it.

I'it is the El Capitan Canyon resort. They were featured in the "Sunset" magazine. They have deluxe tent cabins, massage, horseback riding etc. Never had the chance to go, but will soon - it looks beautiful...
