Turtle Bay Renovations

We are interested in Turtle Bay and understand it is being renovated. Anyone
aware of how far along things are?

It was being renovated when I was there in August 01. Maybe they are doing this to keep obstructions at a minimum. The construction only made the hotel more absent of people. Seemed to be happening in one secluded section. We had a great time and did not feel that the construction impacted us in any other way. You are talking about the North Shore Oahu Turtle Bay?

We stayed there in Feb 01 and it definitely needed remodeled. The bathroom was orange, the carpet was worn, the furiture dated, and the outside chair had so much mildew you had to put a towel on them. It is a great location and has so much potential. I hope they do a good remodeling because it could be great.

yvonne did you ask to switch your room, we did that because we did not like the view and we were given an excellent view. This was a very busy time for most other hotels around the island. The Hilton we stayed at in Waikiki was booked out. Did not have your decor problems but the price was so good then I don't think we would have minded. Still remember that veiw. Too bad you had such a negative experience.

We stayed there a few years ago and loved it. While it could use some "freshening" in spots, the room we had was very nice and from each side we had ocean views and the grounds were lovely. It is a bit secluded, but that was part of the charm.
