Triple espresso & cheap eats in San Diego

We're off to San Diego in 2 weeks. I've heard great things about Triple Espresso and was wondering if the show is suitable for children (aged 7 and 9 with sophisticated senses of humour)? If so, can you buy half price or other discount tickets on the day?

I'd also love to hear suggestions about tasty, inexpensive food in the downtown/gas light area. We love Thai/Chinese/Italian/ Mexican, but prefer to avoid fast food. We are travelling from Australia and our dollar is only buying around US 50 cents at the moment!

Can't wait to hear your ideas -- Andrea

Andrea, seven- and nine-year-olds don't have sophisticated senses of humor. We don't see them sitting in club chairs, guffawing at the cartoons in the New Yorker.

There is a half price ticket booth in Horton Plaza near the Gaslight district.
Should help with the exchange rate.

Thank you so much for your helpful reply Diana.

I'm sorry 'get real'; perhaps I confused you. I have been told that 5th grade (the year level studied by 9 year olds) in Australia is roughly equivalent to 1st year college in the US, so perhaps this is responsible for your inability to understand and reply to my question.

Sorry Andrea, you just screwed up any chance of getting legitimate advice with your last comment.

Triple Espresso is extremely overrated and quite dull. Save your money and do a harbor cruise or something else.

The show doesn't have any thing inappropriate for your kid's ages.

I've met many Australians during my travels and I have yet to see them as better educated.

If you're so bright, why don't you make enough money to be able to afford a decent meal?
