Trip to LV, SF, SD, LA, SB

My husband and I want to visit Las Vegas from Fort Lauderdale in May, Thinking of driving to San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Yosemini Park and back to Las Vegas to fly back to Ft Lauderdale. How many days should we plan the trip for? How many days in each place.
Need to know places to visit ect. Thanks

Minimum 2 weeks. At least 2 nights in each place, but that would be pushing it. 3 weeks would be better.

Give yourselves three weeks if you want to see all of these places. You can make your trip more efficient if you fly home from your last city rather than returning to Las Vegas.

Concur with three weeks. Before we can advise you what to see, we need to know what you like to do.

Three weeks for sure. - And driving from LV to SF and Yosemite to Vegas can be a big issue.

It would be much MUCH better to fly open jaw into one city and home from another. Say in to SF and home from Las Vegas.

i.e. something like SF > Yosemite > Carmel/Monterey > Santa Barbara > LA > SD > Vegas.

2.5 to 3 weeks, and you have to make reservations for Yosemite a year in advance, now is not too soon once your dates are fixed.

That 2.5 to 3 weeks assumes you fly to and fro the west coast. If you are driving to and fro Fort Lauderdale you need to add an extra week for that alone - even with 2 people driving.

They're flying.

I would fly from FLL to San Diego, work your way up the coast with whatever time you have....then fly from SF to Las Vegas. You'll need to make reservations well in advance for Yosemite, but in May, much of the rest of your coastal drive can be planned on-the-go or a week or so in advance once you see the weather predictions. (Memorial Day weekend you'll need to book in advance along the coast, for sure.)

As for "need to know places to visit", just do a forum search on each city and you'll find an endless number of threads to read for all of them, with lots of ideas and opinions. Or check the "destinations" tab above.
