Trip to Jackson Hole and Yosemite

Well, I have yet another new girlfriend. She's going to Jackson Hole, WY, on business for a conference. We get to stay at Snowking for free. Is it nice? I've seen the pictures and it looks quite nice.

I will have three days to explore while she's in the conference. I want to see Yellowstone and all the attractions there, yet still see the Jackson Hole area. I've never been to this part of the country so I'm quite excited.

How long is the drive from Snowking to the main part of Yellowstone (Old Faithful, caribou, and other not miss attractions)? Is a day trip from JH to Yellowstone and back doable?

What is in the Jackson Hole immediate vicinity? I assume snow season is over by then (late June).

Thanks in advance for any help and input.

Oh, in addition, we have a weekend together to explore as well, so I'd like recommendations for my solo traveling and then "couple traveling". Thanks!

There are several active threads going on right now. Have you had a chance to read any of them?

Yellowstone is the size of Delaware and Rhode Island combined and access is via two large loop roads (envision the number 8). It sounds like you don't have a good image of the size of park.

Solo or couple, you may enjoy the ranger led hikes.

I don't know where Snowking is but we stayed in Teton Village and did the lower loop of Yellowstone in one very long but wonderful day. We also did a rafting trip and a fishing trip out of Jackson through local outfitters. There are several terrific hikes in and around the lakes (Jenny Lake, Jackson lake). You might enjoy the Wildlife Art Museum (alone or as a couple) just outside of Jackson. For a romantic dinner I recommend WildSage restaurant.

POlson,

Thank you for your information.

I'll plan to do the lower loop one day.

november_moon, thanks. It seems I go through girlfriends like women go through shoes! I just wish I could make a woman with all the things I like from the previous past girlfriends and none of the bad. Oh well, I can dream huh?
