Looking at what the OP actually wants, a cabin at Chautauqua is actually the perfect choice. It's not a bad idea:

Get prepared because it looks like you will have both. The forecast for the weekend is decent but the first of the week could bring the first snow to the Denver area. It is a little early to accurately forecast but the probability is high for cool and rainy weather. The mountains have already had higher than average early snow. So bring boots, hat, and gloves. You may need them.
