To the people who have responded to my orginal post:

Thanks, but you have it all wrong.

First of all I am 54 years old and have experienced the cold war (1950s) and Vietnam and a number of recessions. So I have seen bad times in America.

This situation is far worse because our enemies are living right here with us and all the ID and security checks in the world will not stop them. The enemy is us, political correctness and an inept INS.

No amount of security can stop them and most people travelers included understand this. Has Isreal with all its systems and security stopped its terror? NO.

Please do not travel or go to places with lots of people until things change.

Jack do us all a favor and go see a mental health professional. You are in desperate need of counseling and/or medication for your paranoia.

Crawl back into your little hole you frightened, miserable little excuse for a man.

Jack you weren't old enough to understand the cold war if you think this is bad. Can you say doomsday clock?

Here are 4 names of real men who fought for their countrymen and died for them.

Jeremy Glick
Tom Burnett
Todd Beamer
Mark Bingham

United Flight 93 - September 11.

"Who more than self their country loved."

I'm ashamed for you and your behavoir on this board and just hope you can redeem yourself in some way before it's too late.

Are you an American citizen? If so, then start acting like one. Hundreds of thousands of Americans over the years have given their lives in the fight against tyranny. These four did on September 11th.

You are merely inconvenienced at an airport security line.

Sorry to disagree, but the terrorists have not won.

1. We're going on vacation next week to Miami Beach and Key West. Yes, we're flying and investing our money in some good Amreican hotels and restaurants.

2. I still go to work each day at my office in a big office building for a major company and do not feel unsafe at all.

3. I use public transportation and am not afraid to do so.

4. I go to the mall, the local markets, the streetside vendors and bodegas without any fear that a terrorist is around the corner.

5. I am hyper-optimistic about America's future. I look in the eyes of my daughters and know that they'll live in a better world.

6. Everyone I encounter lives his life without crawling under a rock. Yes, we now live with a few more inconveniences when we go to the airport or to the local government building, but those are small prices to pay so that we can continue to give "the bird" to the bastards who would otherwise attack us.

So, Jack, perhaps you'd like to surrender, but I intend to continue living life and loving every second.

Liam, of all people to talk about NOT giving up,I think you might be one of those people who can really say that and mean it!
How is everything?

I disagree with you also, yeah we may have these inconveniences now, but in the long run, the terrorists are the losers.

Concerned:

Thanks for asking. Things are going well (knock wood). We'll find out more in August. Anyhow, nothing is deterring us from moving forward. Not even Osama.
