Travel times to Moab

I'll be grateful for any info on travel times to Moab from the following international airports:

Las Vegas
Salt Lake City
Denver
Pheonix

Also any views on good diversions en route. We can fly into any of them so I'm looking for which will be the best option after a long international flight.

Many thanks

I recommend Las Vegas, which is a good diversion all by itself, but don't waste more than a day or two there, partly to rest up from your long flight. Where are you flying from? You can drive to St. George, Utah, in two hours, a good place for a lunch stop, and then on to Zion NP, a place worth stopping at for a day or two, if you have time. I think it's about 1 1/2 hours from St. George.

Another two hours or so and you can visit Bryce NP. Then take the beautiful route 12 up to Torrey, just a gorgeous drive. There are several motels there if it's time to stop (but then a long drive to Moab with no motels that I know of). Go east out of Torrey and spend an hour or two in Capital Reef NP, continue east to Hanksville, where you have to turn north or south and go around Canyonlands. North is shorter; south is the way my sister and I took. We spent a night in Torrey and another night in Monticello, arriving early in Moab. Even taking the northern route, it'll take a whole day to drive from Torrey to Moab (with a stop at Capital Reef)

I am recalling the travel times from memory of a trip we took two years ago. I'm quite sure you can get to Moab faster if you stick to the interstate highways, but you would miss some of southern Utah's most spectacular scenery. You can also include the northern rim of the Grand Canyon on your round trip from LV to Moab and back, if you can spare an extra day or two.

Good luck with your planning--it'll be a great trip!

It's about six hours from Denver to Moab. Beautiful drive through the mountains. Several small tourist towns along the way for meals and shopping.

You guys did a great job of covering a lot of it!

Salt Lake City 235 miles about 4 1/2 hrs.

Denver 355 miles and about 6 hours (taking scenic hwy 128 from Cisco into Moab) As mentioned I-70 from Denver is very scenic. Colorado National Monument is just outside of Grand Junction, CO.

Las Vegas 460 miles and 6 1/2 hours driving the fast way on I-15 & I-70.
If you had the time, I would do the route xanthippe mentioned spend some time in Zion, Bryce & Capitol Reef. You can always do the fast route back.

Phoenix is 462 miles and about 8 1/2 hours away. From Phoneix you could also add the Grand Canyon or Canyon de Chelly, Monument Valley and the Needles District of Canyonlands.
