Hi - -

I don't drive and need to get from New York City to New Paltz on Sunday evening and then to Albany the next day.

I checked Amtrak, but the station is not listed.

How can I get there?

New patz is on west side of Hudson - trains are on east. Need to take Amtrak or Metro North (Metro Noreth much cheaper) to Poiughkeepsie and then a cab or bus to New paltz. I'm guessing (wild guess) that it's a good $15-25 cab ride from Poughkeepsie train station. Other option is Greyhound all the way from NYC.

Best way is to take a bus from the Port Authority, 42nd and 8th Avenue. There is no train service to New Paltz.

Aderondack Trailways (TRAILWAYS) and or Greyhound buses go directly to New Paltz from NYC. I in quired about it last fall.

Without a car, the bus is definitely the way to go. Since New Paltz is a college town, the bus service/schedule should be convenient.
