I have status with Hertz so that is the company I tend to rent from, as it allows me to skip the line at the counter and I get to choose my own vehicle. But definitely shop around for prices especially if you are doing a one-way rental, and keep rechecking the rates. My last few rental experiences have been that the rates dropped closer to the date so I changed my reservation to get a better deal
