Anyone use toursaver book when travel in Alaska. I check its website www.toursaver.com but didn't know how it works. Is there any difficult or restruictation to use this "coupon" book?

We went to Alaska for a month summer before last. After hearing about the toursaver book, I called a number of the places we were staying and others I wanted to stay. Mainly I was told that the coupons were only good for "last minute" bookings, or if there were rooms available last minute. Since most places were booked way ahead they wouldn't do us any good.
But others have posted here to say the book worked for them. If you're traveling in "off season" you'd probably have better luck. And certainly you'd have to buy the book before booking any reservations, as I did get the idea they wouldn't accept the coupons after booking, only at time of booking. This also made me wonder if you'd get a different "pre-discount" rate, as most places gave us some sort of special rate or discount anyway.

I'm one of the ones that used the Toursaver coupon book successfully. We traveled to Anchorage, Homer, Seward and Denali last June and July for about ten days (peak season) and were not refused use of the book once.

I looked at the toursaver website and booked several hotels in advance using the coupon (mostly buy one night, get one night free deals) before I actually got the book. I also booked buy one get ones on dogsledding in Seward, a Denali Summit flight, a Princess rail package to/from Denali and several day cruises.

I found the book easy to use and even if you use it for only one Kenai Fjords Tours day long boat tour, it has paid for itself. I am quite certain that we saved thousands. I suggest calling the places where you would use the coupons, attempt to book "using the coupon" and judge it for yourself. Best of luck!

I used the toursaver 2 years ago with good savings. It is most useful for independent interior travelers. Be certain to inquire about restrictions before you buy. Actually- the hotel bookings are not last minute. Many reports of reservations easily available. Myself, I don't like the lodging selections and always stay elsewhere.

We bought 2 books this year! Family of 4.We booked lodging in Anchorage, Seward, Copper Center and Valdez with the book and saved several hundred. We Booked flightseeing and the Kenai Fjords national park tour to name a few and did the same, On the hotels, I called ahead in November Dec. and Jan. to make sure they were accepting and they were. It usually has to be booked in advance and if the hotel is at 80 percent occupancy at the time you book they may not accept the coupon.Also if you have triple A (automobile association of America) some also accept that. I am currently in a process of planning a trip to Alaska for August. I have a TourSaver book, and had not have any problems with reservations. I am using it for hotel nights, tours, car rental, etc. You just need to mentioned that you have a TourSaver coupon at a time of reservation.

Make sure that you calling "local" number printed on a coupon. (some of them are 800, however, some of them are 907). If you call a central booking place (for example, for Avis) - they have no idea what TourSaver coupon is.

If you only want one or two things from a book, and don't really want to pay $99.00 - you can buy a used book (much cheaper) from previous travelers (just make sure that coupons that you need are there). I've seen people do that on cruisecritic.com BB.

I traveled in Alaska last summer and looked through someone else's Toursaver. I would not have saved a dime.
