Tour Saver

I am already planning my 2006 trip to Alaska, but a lot will depend on the coupons in the Tour Saver. Does anyone have an idea of when the 2006 version will be out?

They usually aren't firmed up until the end of the year. Many are long time coupons and any tours won't require significant advance booking. Hotels are the ones that seem to have more limited availability- but I have never seen big bargains as they are the rack rates and there are plenty of lodging options that are cheaper even with the 2 for 1.

Budget Queen (and others) Do you think it is worthwhile to get the 2005 Tour Saver book for 2.5 days of land touring before we get on the cruise and do you think we can still get at this late date as we go at the end of May?

Are there deals there for the cruise ports of call - Juneau, Skagway,Ketchikan besides the deals in the Anchorage- Kenai-Seward area?

Thanks

There is very little in the Toursaver book for the Inside Passage ports.

You need to look at and review the offers. As already stated, don't buy it for the inside passage. But if you plan on a McKinley flight and a Whittier glacier tour- it would be worth the cost. Your short time is a negative however on a good amount of usage. then when you return there is a big market for used books. I bought one a few months ago from someone.

Thanks, BudgetQueen,
I was thinking mostly of usage for the Anchorage to Seward route.

Where did you meet someone who had a used book? Do they sell them at the airport or just online?
