Top of the rock: At what time is the sunset in mid December??

I want to go to see the city lighting up...at what time is the sunset?? I want to see day and night...
another thing...when I get the tickets online, if I put for example 6.30pm how long are we allowed to stay watching the view?? Even if we have tickets do we have to wait a long queue or are there 2 different queues for people with and without tickets??
Thanks!!

According to the website www.sunrisesunset.com, sunset in mid Dec is 4:30pm. There is very little change throughout the month of December.

You shouldn't encounter any wait if you bought tickets in advance. That's the purpose of making a timed appointment. Unless they've changed the policy recently, you can stay as long as you want.
Word of advice: Dress warmly! It's cold up there this time of the year. Still, the views are worth a little discomfort!

Observation deck at the top of 30 Rockefeller Ctr, NYC. 70 stories up. One of the best skyline views anywhere.

You wold definitely have to be up there by 4 pm - so probably 3:30 tickets or maybe 3:45 - if you want to see anything in daylight. By 4:30 it;s not complete dark but almost all the light has gone.
