Is it still standing? The wind is tremendous today. Gusts up to 60 mph. Trees down everywhere. Electricity out in some areas.

PS I love NYC during the holidays.

Yes the hurricane today was really dangerous. I heard we had some gusts that were up to 80 miles and hour and LOTS of stuff is just "a blowin in the wind". Glad I did not have to fly today.

The stores are already starting to decorate windows. I did Macy's this afternoon and the windows are up, with a see through cover so you can imagine whtat they will look like with all the lights and the holdiay decorations.

Also some of the stores are going to really extend their hours for the holdiday season. Macy's for example will be open till midnight the last few days before Christmas and close at 7pm on Christmas Eve. I would bet most of the stores in the city will follow Macy's hours.

The tree is indeed here, I saw the report of the tree being taken down and wondered the same thing do we really have to have a live tree each year that is then cut up and thrown away, it's a shame. But I guess we would miss the tradition if it changed. Want to skate under the tree this year have wanted to do that for a long time and promised myself this is the year.

Happy almost holidays......
