The Plaza

There are so many plaza hotels in New York City that I don't know which one is which one.
Does any body know where the real The Plaza is located? Is it worth it?
I'm planning to book a room for Thanksgiving.
Thank you.

NO.
It is NOT worth it.
This question was just discussed this week.
While the location of the Plaza is tops, the hotel is worn and many of the rooms are shoebox size. Some suites are large and beautiful, but if you're not going to pay for one, that won't help you.
A standard room at the Plaza is overpriced.
Check alternatives.
What's your desired price range?

It's me again.
There are at least two five star hotels named plaza, The Plaza by Fairmont and Plaza Hotel by UTELL.
Which one is the real one?
Thank you.

I think that UTELL is just the name of a hotel boooking service, not the hotel chain. There is only one Plaza Hotel, at 59th street/Central park South near 5th avenue, and it is a Fairmont hotel.

xxx is correctamundo.
Utell books hotels.
The Plaza is THE Plaza.

Joe, if your price range is up to $600 you can stay anywhere.
The better question, then, is what do want/like in a hotel?
The Four Seasons is very close to the Plaza, very close to Central Park and many rooms have amazing views. But the decor is not particularly 'warm' to my eye, pretty but modern and somewhat stark, unlike most other FS's. It was designed by I.M. Pei (but I'm sure he didn't do the room decor). FS is my favorite in NYC, but it doesn't appeal to everyone.

The St. Regis is next on my list. The Plaza Athenee has beautifully redone rooms and is a much cozier, more charming place (with great summer deals on suites, too).

But you've got plenty of options.
