Now that spring has arrived in most of the country I am interested in visiting the place where spring flowers, trees and bushes are the most beautiful.

Where is spring more beautiful than anywhere else in America? Where are there more spring flowers in full beauty than anywhere else?

North and South Carolina are beautiful when the Azaleas bloom but you've already missed them.

Unfortunately, they are already past their peak, too.

Went to Savannah (Georgia) and Beaufort (SC) at the beginning of April and was bowled over by the beauty of the azaleas in bloom. But yes, that's already past. So go north -- Maryland and Virginia are now blooming. Not just azaleas, but apples and crabapples, and the dogwoods are starting to bloom as well. Between Easter and Mother's Day is just too pretty for words in the Washington DC area.

Upstate New York is just now beginning to bloom!! So gorgeous in the Catskills right now. But then, I am partial to my incredibly beautiful state!

Definitely not Wyoming. Wyoming is such an ugly state, I strongly urge you never to visit. All those disgusting mountains cluttering up the place. And about 1 in 7 people who visit are eaten by a bear.

Aside from a few meager wildflowers and a scrawny baby elk or two, there's really nothing to see in Wyoming in the Spring. Plus, the season of Spring only lasts from May 27 to June 3. Before this the temperature is invariably -12F and snowing, and after all you'll get is 100F days and 35F nights.

If you decide that you must visit Wyoming in spite of this warning, try to spend all of your time in the area northwest of Rawlins. This is called the Great Divide Basin (anyplace with "Great" in the name can't be too bad, right?) Also, if you're into city life, Rock Springs is the place to be.

Whatever you do, DO NOT visit Yellowstone in the Spring. Local businesses try to lure tourist dollars in with the promise of natural beauty and wildlife, but the real reason this part of the country was closed to developement is that it just plain SMELLS BAD.

Western Washington can be very beautiful, esp. on nice sunny days like yesterday. In Bremerton it was 76. Today wasn't bad either. The daffidols are fading away and the tulips are in bloom, the lilics are just beginning to bloom. Some rhodendrens and azaleas are starting to bloom. Many other plants are blooming...ahh nothing like seasonal allergies to make spring even more enjoyable.
You just missed the Daffidol Festival in Pierce County. The Tulip festival is in May in Skagit County.

Western Washington is simply breathtaking. Although I've been here 12 years now, I never stop being amazed at the beauty. Right now, looking out my window there are huge blooms on the cherry trees, the tulips are up, and these incredible red rhodies are in bloom. Plus, it's always green because of the large variety of evergreens. Of course, the sun was out most of the day, and that helps.

I live in Michigan near Holland Michigan where hoards of tourists come to see Tulip Festival in May. But Michigan is not necessarily a great place to plan a spring vacation - weather is very unpredictable. Around where I live there are daffodils and flowering trees but I would hardly consider it a vacation destination. I was in Traverse City a few years ago during April and drove up Old Mission Peninsula while Cherry Trees were in bloom - that was beautiful. I still prefer to wait for summer to see the beauty of Lake Michigan and "Up North".

I thought the post about Wyoming was hilarious! I wonder how serious poster was or if he is trying to keep people away from Wyoming!

Of course my post was serious! Wyoming is such a terrible place that I can barely force myself to take a vacation there every year. I'm really dreading my two weeks in Yellowstone and the Bighorn Mountains this summer.
