The Lodge at Torrey Pines?

Has anyone stayed at the Lodge at Torrey Pines? What is there to do in LaJolla or around San Diego while my husband is golfing??

Well, we are going there tomorrow as I go for a regular med check up at Scripps clinic and my husband loves to drive me there from Orange County because he says the hamburgers are the BEST he's ever eaten so we always drop in for lunch! they're available in the snack shop by the pool and in the regular restaurant, ask for them!
what to do??? Oh my, did you know about the great outlets a little north on the I-5 off Palomar road??? Shop til you drop.

When driving, beware the multiple roads named Torrey Pines Road in LJ, CA. Check the map. Twice.

Deloris is talking about the Carlsbad Country Store outlet mall. Nice upscale outlet center about 20 miles north. Don't know if you have checked out tripadvisor. This hotel gets great reviews overall-you could try the spa and the restaurants are outstanding.

As far as what to do in La Jolla or San Diego, I am assuming you will have a car. The biggest downside of staying at the Lodge at Torrey Pines is that there isn't a lot to do around the hotel. All you have to do is search on this forum under San Diego and a ton of posts will come up. It all depends on what you are interested in and when you are coming. I would recommend that you go to downtown La Jolla, have lunch there (try Brockton Villa, or George's at the Cove). You can shop and just enjoy the beautiful view. And of course there are the usual San Diego spots such as the Zoo and Balboa Park.

if you enjoy lots of walking, you could walk to torrey pines state park from the hotel. there's a nice beach there. otherwise, as stated, you'll need to drive to your destination.
