Thanksgiving at Myrtle Beach accomodations
I am exhausted searching for a 2-3 bedroom condo, oceanfront, spacious living area, indoor pool, and reasonably priced for this time of year. Kingston Plant., Ocean Creek, and Forest Dunes seem to be the favorites, but the rates are outragious dealing with them directly. Does anywone know the best realtor, company, etc. to contact for hopefully better prices? One other thing - an owner offered his condo at San-a-Bel at a very good price. I'm unfamiliar with it. I'm interested but a little leary. Thanks.

One thing to remember if you don't rent through Ocean Creek, Kingston or Ocean Forest, you don't get the same perks the hotel guests get. You will have deposits, bring your own sheets and towels, and no maid service.
I think condotels rents the above listed.

Thank you. I also just called Kingston Plantation. The quoted rates by phone are different than on their sight. Rates were only $109 in one of the towers, and $129 in Brighton Building. They were $159 and over on their site. Big difference to us. Would you go with Kingston or Ocean Creek?

We stayed at Kingston Plantation last summer. We enjoyed our stay very much. I cannot compare with the other place but KP was nice. I think in the Brighton Building all rooms look as though they would be Ocean view. Keep that in mind for the price point differencs.

Be prepared to fix your own T'giving dinner--there are VERY few places open according to friends on another travel board who live in MB. There is Chestnut Hill or Litchfield Plantation for high end dining (res. a must) and the K&W cafeteria and Shoney's (I am not making this up.)

Gloria,
As between KP and OC, we have stayed at both (although OC more recently). You can't go wrong at either, although I slightly preferred KP.
San-a-Bel is about 1/2 mile from where I live in N. Myrtle Beach. It's an older oceanfront condo building, but I haven't seen any of the interior. Condo interiors down here, especially in older buildings, vary a great deal. In any event, OC and KP are resorts, San-a-Bel is not.
As for dining, there seem to be a few more restaurants staying open. In addition to the places Gretchen mentioned, you can check out www.myrtlebeachonline.com (then select newspaper adds, dining & entertainment), where several restaurants have places ads offering Thanksgiving meals.
The ones that caught my eye are: Cafe Amalfi (between NMB and MB); Divine Fish House (Murrells Inlet); House of Blues (NMB); and Sara J's Seafood Restaurant (Garden City). We recently sampled Cafe Amalfi and Sara J's at a *Taste of the Town* event and were very impressed with both.
Have a great time!
