Texas Flood

Hey all,

Spending an extended weekend in Houston this weekend and had been planning an traveling out to San Antonio and/or Austin as our schedule allowed. I was wondering if the flooding in the San Antonio area has affected the Riverwalk, Alamo, etc. Obviously, at first glance, one would think Riverwalk would be affected most, but I don't know if they have engineering structures in place to prevent flooding in the area. Has the flooding affected Austin and/or the surrounding areas as well?

Thanks.

Sorry I can't help you with the info, but love the Stevie Ray Vaughn reference in the title.

"Stevie Ray Vaughn dies, and we can't get Jon Bon Jovi on a helicopter!" -- Dennis Leary (on how life is unfair)

WE JUST CAME BACK FROM SAN ANTONIO TODAY AND NO IT HASN'T AFFECTED ANY VISITORS ATTRACTIONS. WE WENT TO SEA WORLD YESTERDAY. JUST TAKE A PONCHO WITH YOU. THE RIVERWALK IS FINE. IT'S THE FREEWAYS AND CREEKS THEY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH.

THE FREEWAYS WERE JUST BAD IN SOME PARTS OF SAN ANTONIO. THEY JUST HAVE YOU TAKE THE SERVICE ROAD. AUSTINS FREEWAYS ARE FINE AS FAR AS FLOODING, BUT THE CONSTRUCTION MADE ME NERVEOUS BEING SO CLOSE TO THE WALLS ON THE FREEWAY.

Kim,

Thanks for your reply. We had a great time in San Antonio - a beautiful city. Passed some flooded areas along I-10 from Houston, but the highway itself was unaffected.

Prayers go out to those affected by the floods.
