Taos - Hampton Inn or Comfort Inn?

We're spending most of our time in Abq and SF, but will spend one night in Taos. We don't need anything fancy, just something clean/comfortable (and reliable) with a fridge in the room. Would you stay at the Taos Hampton Inn or the Comfort Inn & Suites? Is one in a better location than the other?

I have not been to these two hotels, but I would always choose a Hampton over a Comfort.

Comfort Inn is 3 miles south of Taos plaza, Hampton is just across street. I haven't stayed at either, but they should both be okay. Neither is in a scenic area, they are on the "main road" into Taos.

We have stayed at El Peublo which is 1 mile north of the plaza. A fireplace room, with king and kitchentte runs $98 a night. Be sure to ask for a non-pet room though.

Hope this helps...

Have breakfast at Michaels, at the northern end of town. They can be busy but is worth the wait. DragonFly Cafe/Bakery is also good for breakfast. It is next to post office just a bit north of plaza.
