Taking BART from SFO airport into town

We are staying at the Marriott South of Market & want to know about taking BART from the airport into downtown. How easy is it to do from the airport? What does it cost? I think the closest BART station to the hotel is Powell. Thanks.

It is very easy! Just follow the signs from your arrival terminal to the free Air Train. There is transfer point to the main line at Garage G, where you will buy your ticket. The fare calculator says it is now $8.10 (that's an increase from the last time we were there!)

Make sure you get a train heading toward "Pittsburch/Bay Point".

Oops! Make that "Pittsburg". It's the yellow line on the system map.

The Pittsburg/Bay Point line (yellow) is the only one that goes to the airport -- if by chance you go toward Millbrae instead of toward Pittsburg, no problem, that's the "end of the line" and you'll just get off and switch to another train.

(Enzian, the prices went up July 1st)

sf7307---wasn't it $5.40 before? That's a hefty fare increase---50%. But it's still a great service, very convenient if your hotel is near the BART line.

Yes, I think is was $5.55 or something like that. Even at $8.10, though, it's a great deal compared to a taxi, which is like $40.00, so for one or two people, definitely a savings.

Never mind that All trains from SFO go to San Francisco and stop at all city stations. It's important which train you take going back to SFO.
