Subway Station near Brooklyn Bridge

What is the closest subway station on the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge? Thanks!

If you're planning to walk the bridge, though, it's better to take the subway to the Brooklyn side and walk back.

It's called "Brooklyn Bridge" on the 6 line. Exit by following the signs to the bridge and you will come up in a little island at the beginning of the pedestrian walkway. Otherwise, you will have to walk across a couple of lanes of traffic.

Do a Google streetview - you'll see everything.

The "Brooklyn Bridge" stop is served by the 4. 5, and 6.

Also in Mnahattan, the "City Hall" stop is across the street and is served by the R and W.

In Brooklyn the "High Street" station (trains A and C) is closest to the Bridge.

I took the subway from Manhattan to Brooklyn, walked across the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge, and got on the subway at the Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall station to go back to Midtown. Thank you so much for your help!

It is wonderful that something that large and useful can be so graceful and elegant.
