That's not Asia. If it's just Hawaii, there are nonstop flights, and there's no question that it's not worthwhile to stop over in LA.

Thanks everyone..we WERE going to Hawaii. If we are to be inconvenienced so much by that long trip, we decided on Paris instead!

I'd much prefer Paris, good choice.

Surfergirl, I tried to get tickets for my birthday to see Van Morrison. He was in Liverpool.

Hawaii is truly amazing!! Much more so than Paris. Hopefully sometime you will be wiling to "be inconvenienced so much" to get there!

You can fly from the East Coast to Honolulu in 11 hours; how long is the Paris flight? 8? even 9? Two more hours in the air is "inconvenient?" Wow.

I think flying from DC it is 7.5 hrs so 11-12 hrs. is a lot more to us, considering what Paris offers vs the islands. We have had our fill of easy caribbean cruises so islands hold less excitement for us.
