Statue of Liberty Arrival time
I just purchased tickets to the Statue of Liberty with crown access for July 16, 2010 (Friday) at 10:00 am. This may be a dumb question - but - do I arrive at the ferry terminal for a 10:00 am departure to Liberty Island or is the 10:00 am time specifically for the entrance to the statue?
I am supposed to pick my tickets up at the Battery Park ferry location. If the 10:00 am time means to be at the Statue of Liberty, how early should I arrive at the ferry terminal?
I've searched the website when I purchased online tickets and I could not find an answer to my question.
Thanks for your help.
Gina

For us, the time was for boarding the ferry. I would still get there early, 9:00, for going thru security at the terminal. Once on Liberty Island, hoof it directly to the security line for the statue. This moves REALLY slow. After the statue, see the other views around it, on the island.
For the SOL, the earlier, the better to beat the heat & crowds.

You should know the ferry had airport type security, and from the time you get on the line until you get on the ferry the Park Service suggests you allow 45 minutes. So I would get to South Ferry as early as you can to be sure you get on your ferry and have the shortest possible line to get into the Statue once you get to Liberty Island.
