St. Pete Beach

We would like to stay at the Don Cesar at St. Pete beach but have read that the sand there may be rough, shelly and fairly uncomfortable on the feet. We tend to like soft sandy beaches that are great for swimming - will St. Pete provide that? We haven't made any plans yet so any guidance you provide will be very helpful.

Thanks!

Go, you won't be sorry. The sand there is just fine, and the beach very nice. To top it all off, the Don is the best hotel in the entire strip from St Pete to Clearwater, hands down. It has class, inside and out.

And to tantalize you further--the Sunday brunch buffet at Don Cesar is a heavenly delight! We're purposely flying down to St. Pete Beach this Saturday so as not to miss Sunday's feast.

I agree, I live in Tampa and the Don is a very nice hotel and the sand could not be better.

I haven't been there in over 10 years, but I remember the Sunday brunch being awesome.

Thanks everyone. I will make our reservations. And lucky for us, we will be there on a Sunday so we will certainly take advantage of the Sunday brunch. Thanks for the tips!
