What about St Pat's Day? No one says St Pad's Day!

One of my colleagues is Irish and although he calls himself Patrick his name is actually spelled Padraig. Which is why it is St Paddy's.

Well, if we want to be literally correct, it should be St Padraig's Day.

He's only Padraig in modern Irish. Patrick comes from Latin.
He was probably Welsh, and certainly not Irish.

Let's just settle on Patrick, then. I always thought Padraig was a weird name.

I'm about 100% Irish, so have the final say. Haha

Kiss Me, I'm Irish!,
