St Charles Trolley to Commander's Palace

Here's a neat description of the ride to the curve (where Camilla's and Cooter Brown are) -

If you are interested in looking for a hat, or just browse through a bit of history stop at Meyer's. We saw it across the street as we were waiting for the streetcar and were enchanted. The founder's wife, tiny French Marcelle, was there helping customers find the right hat - along the rest of the family. A delightful stop -

Cd, we got off at 8th street, wandered down Harmony Street to Magazine. Some of the most beautiful pictures we took in NOLA were along those few blocks. I'll upload them to an album on Facebook, although most of the ones I already have there were from that walk. Our destination was Sucre, but the walk was just as much of a treat.
We walked back up on Washington with CP on the corner and the cemetery and strolled through the cemetery. About 14 blocks in all and it was absolutely delightful

I'm a little confused. We catch the St Charles Streetcar on Carondelet St which is close to ? and we can then ride round trip coming back to Carondelet? Or if we want we can get off somewhere and catch another St Charles Streetcar that would be coming back to the French Quarter?

Carondelet intersects with Canal st. (Across Cana St it is Bourbon St. That is the terminus for St Charles Streetcar. You must exit there when coming back from Garden district et al. It is also the start of the west bound trip.
You cannot ride round trip on the same fare .you exit, wherever you want ( even at the end/ where the bus part starts) and then you get on a streetcar going the other way. You pay a new fare and it will take you east, back to carondelet.
You can buy a 1day Jazzy pass for $3 for unlimited rides. Or if you are a senior, show your DL for a $.40 fare.

cd, we walked to the first stop past Canal and caught the streetcar there - St. Charles at Common.
The hat shop was across the street and it looked so interesting we wandered over.

The Washington St stop is 18 stops down - if I counted correctly. Easy peasy

Sea, CP only has brunch on Sat and Sun, the two days we will be there and that is when they are full.
So, Starrs, it's Washington I want to get off on to walk the Cemetery? Is that the one where Louis Armstrong is buried?
Debit, think I've got it now

Cd - this thread will end up being more than you ever wanted to know about St Charles streetcar!
During busy times, the second stop at Common has you you enter a possibly very full car. Getting on at the origin gives you a bit of a heads up and a better chance of getting a seat. . The car gets very crowded, even last weeks when it wasn't a big tourist time in NoLA.
Glad you got it!,
Enjoy, and my trip report is coming!

Along with "correcting" people as often as possible.
Even down to the "correct" street car stop to use.
Hilarious.
cd, you'll have a blast...no matter which streetcar stop you decide to start with.

Go-Laura if you have not reserved a hotel yet, we LOVED Hotel Monteleone ! We asked for the 12th floor with a view of the Mississippi and every night watched the ships sail while we had cocktails in bed! The staff is great and the attention to detail in our room was great!
