Squaw Peak or Tapatio Cliffs
Heading to Phoenix for a long weekend and would like to use some Hilton Points. What are some advantages and disadvantages of the Squaw Peak and Tapatio Cliffs and is it worth it to pay more for a casita. Any info would be appreciated.

Was at Squaw Peak for a conference in Jan. It was COLD so really didn't use the pool or other amenities much. If you want to hike, you go through residential areas till you hit an underpass to get over the expressway, and then you have miles of desert hills. Prettier than I expected for that time of year, in terms of cacti, etc.
Wasn't really impressed with the more upscale restaurant on site. Seems as though Tapatio Cliffs catered more to families.

We have stayed at both properties.
The casita at Squaw P was very nice - having our own patio and adjoining splash pool, that was basically 'ours', because everyone else went to the lazy river pool was a perk. The stand alone restaurant served a Very nice breakfast.
The Tapatio is probably the favorite - really enjoy the Presidential Suites and multitude of large and small pools - easy to pick an active pool or quiet pool;
they offer an 'adult' pool/swim- up bar also, although that designated sign is Not always observed.
The dining room and Mexican eatery are fine; a favorite /calm dinner is to have a table in the bar area - same food, less commotion; there is a hillside high end restaurant also.
We enjoy being able to take varied walks/hikes just steps outside the property. Have fun.
PS - if the sign is out about wearing shoes 'to the pool edge'
observe! That Phnx sun sure can warm up and make the walkway HOT !
